"LUMBERTON - More than a year after Hurricane Katrina ravaged Bass Memorial Academy, students, parents and alumni gathered Saturday to celebrate a bigger, better, restored campus.

It has taken 14 months to repair the damage to the campus - a feat made possible with the help of the Seventh-Day Adventist church family, volunteers and faith, said Elder Gordon Retzer, president of the Southern Union Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists.

"It was only by faith that we were able to say one day we will have a new Bass Memorial Academy," Retzer said."
