Dear Friends,

Just a few minutes ago I was on the phone with Elder A. C. McClure, who
retired from being president of the North American Division during the
2000 G.C. Session in Toronto. He has been diagnosed with lung cancer.


Elder McClure has never smoked in his life, but still has a tumor
pressing against the esophagus. He will be visiting with more
specialists in a few days to discuss a course of treatment.

I told him that I would like to inform people in this manner so we
could all pray for him. Here at the Division Office, we have just had
the staff come together for a time of prayer. I told him that if we
sent out this E-Mail, there would be thousands of people praying for him
all over the world before sundown tonight.

Please pray often for Elder Al and Francis. If you would like to send
him a message, you are welcome to send it to this address and we will be
in touch with him. Elder and Mrs. McClure will keep this office
informed about his progress, and we in turn will keep you up to date.

There is no address for Don. There are a number of people in St. Louis who would like to wish him well. Will they be able to send a note of encouragement to you, or is there another address they can use?
